Working 41 hours this week, sigh! So tiring omgsh! I just downloaded the tumblr app to my iPhone haha I love it! Usually I get too lazy to go blog but since I usually have my phone with me I can blog wherever I go!
So over the past two days I’ve managed to get a fever and lose my voice, fml. This whole week I’ve been feeling on and off while at work. One moment I feel okay then the next moment I feel like I’m going to pass out. And since my job requires a lot of talking, I totally strained my voice that now I don’t have a voice!
Work was really interesting without my voice. For one, it was hard because I couldn’t really help with much except run and get stuff and make drinks. I don’t know how I managed to go 7.5 hours without talking, sigh! I started off as the floater, then I was on bar and then I actually went to R1 (register 1). I would talk to my customers using my hands and point at things. After awhile I actually took out my note pad LOL. One of the customers thought I was just trying to make fancy hand movements until I started writing stuff down to her and she realized I couldn’t talk.
Everyone kept teasing me too, but obviously I couldn’t talk back. So I would write notes to them. Some had, “Jerkface!” “Hmpf!” and “LOL” on them haha. Sigh…
I miss my voice! :(
I have to say that living in London isn’t as bad as I thought. It’s actually pretty exciting! Like the first week that I was here, I had already gone sea-doing - something I would’ve never done back in Ottawa. I find that I’m experiencing so much more here. And also meeting so many cool people.
I’ve met some really cool people just through my Drive-Thru. I’ve met this one lady who’s been in fashion for twenty years! She comes by with magazines and shows us random accessories she has on her dashboard. I also met this one lady who sells Christian merchandise to Salem which is her largest account actually! Starbucks really opened a lot of doors for me.
I wouldn’t have met my coworker/friend, Hannah, if it wasn’t for Starbucks! She’s like the one person I get a long with so well at work. Especially since we started together, it only makes sense that we’re that close. Her grandpa was the first person in Ontario to have an ice cream truck! How cool is that LOL! I felt kind of famous just hearing that little piece of info actually… hehe. Anyways, I’m not just a barista at Starbucks but now (as of 10:20 AM this morning) a CERTIFIED barista! I probably took the certification with more enthusiasm than I should have, but you know me LOL. I was telling every customer who came through and showing off my pin (H).
After work, Hannah and I went to pick up Tabitha (her sister) and we went to this farm about half an hour away from London. She was really lucky and found this lady who wanted her to ride their horses for FREE! I was so excited yet so scared at the same time, just being around all those horses. And there was a dog running around me the entire time too. It was a lot of fun too though. I got to hold the horses’ lead and groom him. And he really likes me hehe! They’re taking me to buy barn clothes at Value Village LOL! I’m officially in love with the farm! I stepped in horse poo and I didn’t even care! If I met me now, I REALLY wouldn’t know me hahaha.
Man… too much excitement for one day.
Thanksgiving this year was really nice. Although it was short and we didn’t really go all out, I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. My mom and sisters came down to London to visit me. I didn’t realize how much I really missed them, don’t tell them that LOL. Jokes! Helen’s family came as well and it was nice seeing them too! It was like having a piece of the OVAC girls with me again. We didn’t really do much besides shop, watch a scary movie, go for some Starbucks, and church but it was so much fun. If only they stayed longer!
Work has been pretty crazy lately. I did a lot of opens this week, soooo tiring. Yesterday, I was up for a total of 17 hours…fml! And I don’t know how I got up this morning at 3:30 am to get ready for work. I set two alarms today, just to play it safe. And thank god I did because my other alarm didn’t go off! Phew!!! I’m getting my certification next week! It was supposed to be last week but we never got around to it, so in reality I should already be certified! I’m so proud of myself because I did a little bit of bar this week! I made real drinks for real customers! That’s right, be proud!!!! I’m not going to lie, I did dance a bit after every drink LOL.
Sigh and it’s only Wednesday. I need a nap.

Ruth: I can’t believe they’re coming in two days!
Me: Who?
Ruth: Your sisters!!!!
Me: OH YEAH….
(…few hours later, before bed)
Ruth: I can’t believe they’re coming in two days!
Me: Who?
Ruth: Your sisters!!!!
LOL teehee…
Hi, I’m at work. Still working. Well on my break actually. But that still counts? I practically live here. Even when I’m NOT working, I’m here studying. Or watching movies LOL.
I’ve been working 7:30-4 shifts for the past 4 days… and I just picked up a 5:30-12 shift for this Saturday. Talk about workaholic. But I’m thinking of buying a Louie off one of the customers, so I need the cash LOL. Only I would…
If you guys remember in my previous post I mentioned how Nancy’s dog humped my arm. Here’s a picture of the little heart breaker. She’s so cute how she lies down with her legs sticking right out haha. Leave it to Nancy to have a slutty dog LOL <3
Just here for a quick update!
This weekend has been so hectic and busy. It didn’t even feel like the weekend. I basically worked 8 hour shifts. But I honestly did enjoy it. Yes, even the rush of customers that came through my drive-thru. It was so crazy, but the feeling of managing to survive that makes me feel like I’m on top of the world. We also celebrated my aunt and uncle’s 17th anniversary. But I was too tired to enjoy the celebrations. I fell asleep at dinner LOL.
I also experienced a dog humping my arm, more on that later! I’ll post pics of Lucky as well!

I think that everything is starting to catch up with me. I’m starting to feel really burnt out, sigh! When I think about all that I have to do (school, work and church) it doesn’t sound like much, but it actually is. I didn’t think I would get so busy so fast. It’s weird from going to do nothing to having a laundry list of things to do. And I still don’t have time to do everything.
My first open shift was this morning and it was such an FML. For starters, I woke up late. I set my blackberry alarm for 3:45 AM… when I woke up my alarm said 4 AM, but really it was already 5. Leave it to me to be late on my first open! Everything just didn’t seem to go right and it was just so frustrating. And it just happens to be Friday morning - one of the busiest days for us. Luckily my co-workers were there to help me and get me through it.
On top of work I have so much school work and studying to do. And then everyone at church expects me to help out and I don’t want to say no, so I just do it. Sigh. Please pray for me to give me strength and just help me to balance everything.
