Hey everyone! I’m currently writing this post from the comfort of my new home! We are officially moved in! I never thought that we would be able to conquer the battlefield of boxes that were in here but thanks to Brian’s family it actually looks presentable.
The move went pretty well. Except for the fact that I got a really sick and I had to be brought to the hospital in an ambulance. Turns out that my UTI was really bad even though I thought the symptoms were getting better. Good news, I feel much better and I’m on antibiotics now.
Pictures to come soon!
When people ask me how I feel about moving soon, on the outside I’m like “Oh my goodness just THREE more days!!! HEHE!” but on the inside I’m like “FML… three days.”
The current state of the basement is a total mess. Just thinking about packing is so exhausting. I managed to pack up most of my belongings… except for my clothes. Which of course require … more time.
I can’t wait to be in the place though. And sit on my new couch. Sleep on my new queen size bed. Use my $1000 pots and pans set and $300 cutlery.
I’m really getting tired of these horrible shifts that my manager has been making me work. I mean I do have open availability but doesn’t mean that he can schedule me WHENEVER he wants to. There’s something called being resonable. I honestly almost passed out at work the other day because he had scheduled me a close and an early mid shift the next day. Sigh!
In other news, we are moving in approximately ONE WEEK. I am so nervous and excited at the same time. Good news, we have everything we could possibly need and more for the place. So we will live comfortably at least haha.
Forever alone. This actually sums up my work schedule this week. All I have are opens and closes. I realized this morning that I won’t get to see Brian until Thursday morning when he wakes up for work.
I had a stressful close night. My barista fell sick during her shift and I had to find a person to come into close last minute. Believe me, no one wants to come into work for a couple of hours until 1:30 AM. Luckily I found another barista from Uptown to come close with me after she closed her store. On top of everything, I had another inventory count. Just the perfect cherry on top. Hopefully tonights close will be go more smoothly.
While I was getting dressed this morning I noticed a tag sewn onto my scarf with different uses for it.
Uses:
1) as a neck scarf for warmth when temperatures drop.
2) as a ground cover for when there’s no chair around (though I highly doubt I will be putting a $50 scarf on the ground).
3) as a sun barrier for those out of the blue sunny days
4) as a body wrap or shawl
I already love my scarf but I love it even more now. Hehe. $50 well spent? I think so.
Today was a busy day for snick and I. It consisted of sleeping in till noon, eating lots of chocolate (kitty food in her case) and laundry (and sleeping in laundry in her case).
This is the life.
Posting this while Brian takes the longest shower of life. He takes more time getting ready than I do…sometimes. It’s Sunday which mean it’s my day off! This past week has been a long one due to my many late nights at the bux. I don’t know what’s worse is that I see my coworkers more often than the members in this house. Emmy had to find out about my bangs via Facebook.
Snick got into quite the ordeal last night at 3 AM (of course something bad happens right when you’re ready for bed). Turns out she got skunked when she snuck out of the house. Serves her right. Unfortunately you can’t just leave your cat covered in skunk, so Brian and I had to give her a bath. I was really nervous about it at first because from past experiences, she has never been too fond of the water. But since Brian had an asthma attack from being in the tub with her, I had to take over. It was truly a bonding moment for us. Snick and I, I mean LOL. You haven’t lived until you wash skunk out of your cat. Thankfully the smell is gone except for the little bit on her head.
We have a big day ahead of us… furniture shopping!
